All You Need to Know About Bonding Products and Primers

There are two different types of bonding aids: First, there is very high bonding (VHB) tape, which is needed for attaching non-adhesive panels or plates to objects. The adhesive tape is double-sided, so one side sticks to the reflective panel, the other side to the rigid surface. In our shop, you can choose between the 3M^TM VHB Tape GPH and the Orafol^® ORABOND^® UHB Tape. Both can be used for installing the LDS panels to road barriers made of concrete or metal crash barriers (guard rails).

Secondly, there are primers, which enhance the adhesion between substrate and self-adhesive film. There are special primers for different types of surfaces, for example for plastics, concrete (pervious / porous or impermeable) or metal. In our shop you can find universal primers that can be used for road marking films and the Orafol^® ORABOND^® UHB Primer (UHB is short for Ultra High Bond) as well as the 3M^TM Scotch-Weld^TM Primer 9348.

Last but not least, the Sott Right On application liquid for self-adhesive films makes positioning reflective films easy – even at high temperatures or in damp weather conditions.
