All You Need to Know About Rotating Beacons
Rotating beacons emit a flashing amber light that provides 360° visibility. Especially at night or in dim light conditions, these flashing amber lights provide extra visibility to vehicles that are potential safety hazards. Depending on national regulations rotating beacons can be required signalling elements e.g., on abnormal load transports as well as their escort vehicles or vehicles for special purposes and heavy machinery.
Fields of application:
- abnormal road transports (long vehicles, heavy haulage, wide load, projecting load)
- escort vehicles
- winter service vehicles
- construction machinery
- farm and forestry machinery
- waste collection vehicles
The warning light should be visible from all angles of approach of the vehicle, i. e. from front, rear and both sides of the vehicle. Therefore, it is important that the beacon is mounted to the vehicle in a way that the flashing light it is not covered and that 360° visibility is given. Depending on the design, beacons can be attached permanently or as needed being equipped with a magnetic base.
