What You Need to Know About Conspicuity Tape for Tankers
Conspicuity tape is made of retroreflective sheeting which excels in long-distance visibility, durability and easy handling.
Since tanker vessels are cylindrical in shape, the rear is round or oval. Applying tape in a circular form is almost impossible since the reflective film would wrinkle and lose its tack under the folds. Besides, the appearance would not look professional. Therefore, tanker conspicuity tape always consist in individual kiss-cut stickers which form a circle when applied. An application tape facilitates the hassle-free mounting of the strips. No edge sealing required.
Another special feature of tanker stickers is their resistance against all weathers, fuel vapors or occasional fuel spills. Some products even allow cleaning with high-pressure (see information sheet). The average service life of the robust tanker stickers is 8-10 years.
Contour Markings Compliant to EU Law
Our tanker sticker for outlining the rear contours meet the requirements of the UNECE regulation 104 and 48.
As required, an E-mark indicates the reflective tape’s compliance with EU law and can be seen as a guarantee of quality and performance.
How to Apply and Clean Conspicuity Tape for Tankers
Please make sure the substrate is free from soil, oil and other dirt. You can use a special surface preparation agent for that.
During application and at least one hour after application (bonding time), the temperature should be between 15° C and 35° C.
For cleaning conspicuity tape for tankers, please use lukewarm water and common detergent only. Avoid any abrasive or aggressive cleaning agents as well as brushes with hard bristles since they can damage the film surface. If you want to use a high-pressure cleaner, please adhere to the care guidelines.
Please find all relevant information about application and maintenance in the respective information sheet of each product.
