The Orafol^® ORALITE^® FD 1403 Marine Reflective Tape is a product designed for rugged outdoor maritime use and conforms to Type I and II (passed 750 respectively 1500 hours of accelerated weathering test) of Resolution A. 658 (16) by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), carrying the corresponding SOLAS imprint.

It also complies with the specification USCG 46, section 164.018 of the U.S. Department of Transportation and carries the wheelmark logo as proof to its certification to the European MED (Marine Equipment Directive).

The stick-on version offered here comes with a strong pressure sensitive adhesive protected by a release liner. It is suitable for applications onto rigid maritime substrates as lifebuoys or lifeboats. Properly positioned, this polymeric film of cube corner microprisms provides an exceptional brightness at wide angles while being wet. This is especially important in maritime emergencies where rescue forces may look for persons in distress by boat (from the side) or by helicopter (from above).

Its single-layer structure is the basis for the product’s durability in harsh environments which include continuous contact with sea water and extreme temperatures. Water has no chance of finding a way into the construction.
